Why This Limitation Exists
Several factors require us to limit service to U.S. residents:
Medallion guarantees are primarily for U.S. securities
Our verification systems use U.S. databases and credit bureaus
We can only verify U.S. government-issued IDs
Shipping restrictions prevent international document delivery
Regulatory compliance requirements
If You’re a U.S. Citizen Abroad
U.S. citizens living overseas have limited options:
Visit a U.S. embassy or consulate (some provide notary services but not medallion guarantees)
Work with a U.S.-based attorney or financial advisor
Designate someone in the U.S. to act on your behalf (requires legal documentation)
Return to the U.S. temporarily to complete the transaction
Foreign Securities
If you’re trying to transfer foreign securities, you likely don’t need a medallion guarantee. Contact the transfer agent or broker for the specific requirements in that country.
