Is an online medallion signature guarantee legitimate?
Yes. A medallion signature guarantee is valid based on the guarantor's membership in a recognized medallion program (STAMP, SEMP, or MSP), not whether the process happens in person or online. eSignature Guarantee is a STAMP-participating institution, and our stamps carry the same legal weight and are accepted by the same transfer agents — Computershare, EQ, AST, and others — as any bank-issued stamp.
Why is it so hard to get a medallion signature guarantee?
Most banks have stopped offering them because of the liability involved. When a bank stamps your document, it's guaranteeing the signature is genuine and the signer is authorized — if something goes wrong, the bank is financially responsible. High liability, low demand, and training costs mean most branches quietly dropped the service. That's why we exist.
How much does a medallion signature guarantee cost?
At a bank or broker, stamps are typically free — but only if you qualify, which most people don't.
